Escape the city lights for the stars. Comatie River Camp offers two private, spacious campsites located on the banks of the Komati River, surrounded by large trees and untouched nature. Reached via a rustic 3km gravel farm road and a 300-meter track through the trees, this is not a commercialized campsite: it is a unique, private location designed for families and friends to relax, unplug, and camp the traditional way. Please note that guests must bring their own drinking water, and strictly high-clearance or 4x4 vehicles are required to navigate the road, especially during the rainy season.

To preserve the natural beauty and traditional camping experience, there is no electricity at the campsites. Bring your lanterns, candles, and let the moonlight take you back to a simpler way of living.

• Riverside Braai Area & Fire Pit: Features a large, stone-built fire pit right on the riverbank with a dedicated braai grid stand for cooking over the coals. The braais are cleaned daily.
• Ablutions: The two sites share one simple, communal bathroom equipped with one toilet, one shower, and a basin. The bathroom is cleaned daily.
• Hot Water: Like in the old days, guests must make a fire for the "donkey" water heater to warm up the water.
• Scullery: An outside sink is available next to the bathroom for washing dishes. Please note that the daily servicing does not include washing dishes.
